Utilise Self Storage This January

It’s that time of year again folks – the time for New Year’s resolutions. Is one of yours to get fit and healthy this January? Are you planning on investing in some exercise equipment to use at home such as an exercise bike, treadmill or cross-trainer? Well these items are bulky and take up a great deal of room so might we suggest you make room for them by clearing out your spare bedroom.

Although several times a year you might find your spare bedroom utilised by friends and family staying over, we can guarantee that for the majority of the year the room is used for storing items that don’t fit elsewhere in the house. Well this January make the decision to turn this room into a home gym by storing all your spare items in our fully secure self-storage facility.

We offer a range of different sized units which can accommodate beds, desks, chests of drawers and more to leave you with enough room to realise your dream of a home gym. Plus as we offer flexible storage contracts, you can easily move your items out again when you have guests come to stay. Simply swap your home gym equipment for your spare bedroom furniture when required.

To find out more about our self-storage facility and our rates, please contact us for further information.

We’re Granting Christmas Wishes…

A couple of weeks ago, we told you about our latest mission to help the children of Chestnut Tree House have a magical Christmas. We pledged that we’d buy and donate a gift to put under the Christmas tree for every contract signed between 15th November and 15th December. We’re thrilled to report that it’s looking pretty busy under the Christmas Tree at Chestnut Tree House but we think there is still room for a few more presents.

So what are you waiting for? Sign a contract with us today and we’ll buy, wrap and donate the present. Just imagine the look of delight on the children’s faces when they see all their presents on Christmas morning.

If you would like to know more about how we help Chestnut Tree House or about any of our services, please
contact us.

Access To Your Items at Cube Self Storage

At Cube Storage, we welcome customers to ask us any questions that they might have about our purpose-built self-storage facility. One of the questions we regularly get asked is ‘how can I access your secure storage facility?’ This question is very important as we try to provide a great balance of security and accessibility to our facility. We want you to easily be able to access your items whilst in storage whilst ensuring other people are not able to get in.

Our fully secure, state-of-the-art storage facility is equipped with both swipe card technology and electronic keypads. When you decide to store your household, business or personal items with us, you will be given a swipe card to use to access the facility. You will also be given your own, unique pin number to use to access the building.

These two things, in addition to our CCTV system, ensure that only those who should be granted access to our storage facility manage to get in. If you happen to lose your swipe card or forget your pin number, we have a security procedure in place to ensure that we can give you, and only you, access to your items.

If you would like to know anything further about our security measures or any of our other services, please contact us.

Make Sure Your Valuables are Safe this Christmas with Self Storage

Although Christmas is supposed to be a time of good will to all, unfortunately thieves don’t honour this tradition. Drawn in my empty homes and new (and expensive) Christmas gifts, thieves take full advantage of the festive season by burgling your home whilst you’re away visiting friends and family members. To make sure all your valuables are protected this year, we recommend placing them in self-storage if you’re going to be away.

The self-storage facility at Cube Self Storage is fully secure. Our security features include keypad entry, a state-of-the-art alarm system and CCTV so you can be assured that your new toys and household items are safe with us.

Check out our special offers page or contact us today to discuss your storage needs on 0800 027 2668.

Helping Christmas Wishes Come True for Children

If you have used Cube Self Storage in the past, you may be aware that one of the charities that we hold close to our hearts is Chestnut Tree House. Chestnut Tree House offers a home away from home for children with progressive life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses from all over the country. The services they offer include psychological support, respite care and bereavement therapy for families in need. They offer all this completely free of charge and are therefore reliant on donations.

Last year we helped Chestnut Tree House with their Christmas Present Appeal and, along with our clients, donated a selection of much-needed toys and games. This year, we’re hoping to top this by buying the children even more presents so for every storage contract taken out with us between 15th November and 15th December, we will be buying and donating a present to the children at Chestnut Tree House.

We would like to make a difference to these children and their families and look forward to your storage contracts. If you would like to know more about our services, please contact us.

How To Prepare Your Sofa For Storage

At Cube Self Storage, we see a lot of customers who are storing large household items in between house moves. One of the main items that are stored are sofas and our storage rooms can easily accommodate three seaters, two seaters and armchairs. Here are some top tips for preparing your sofa for storage:

Tip 1 – Cleaning
It’s important that your sofa is clean before placing it in storage. Make sure that you have thoroughly vacuumed your sofa to remove dust, dirt and pet hairs. This includes vacuuming right down in between the cushions if they cannot be removed. If your sofa is leather, we recommend using an appropriate leather suite cleaning kit prior to storage or if your sofa is fabric use an approved fabric cleaner.

Tip 2 – Protection
Although your sofa can be stored as it is without additional protection, we do recommend covering your sofa during storage. This will stop any dust getting on it. The best way to cover your sofa is by covering or wrapping it in a breathable piece of fabric.

Tip 3 – Location
To ensure your sofa stays in its correct shape during storage, we recommend storing it on its base as you would at home. It’s also important to protect your sofa from damage by sharp objects you also have in storage by not placing boxes or other objects on top of your sofa. However to maximise your storage space, other cushions, pillows, duvets, towels or blankets could be stored on your sofa without causing damage.

We hope you have found these tips useful. If you would like to know more about our self-storage options, please contact us.

Self Storage for Business

At Cube Self Storage, we have a range of customers which include both individuals and businesses. This week you’re going to tell you a little more about the benefits of self storage for business customers.

Storing Stock – often buying in bulk from suppliers is considerably cheaper in the long run but some businesses can’t do this because they simply don’t have the room to store the surplus stock. By hiring storage space at our highly affordable rates, you’ll be able to take advantage of supplier discounts on bulk orders. Plus thanks to our flexible storage options, you can increase or decrease your storage requirement to suit your needs.

Storing Paperwork – for companies which are paper heavy, all those filing cabinets and paper files can make space in your office limited. By putting all these files into storage, you can create more working space for doing the tasks that make you money or hiring more staff.

Take Advantage – at Cube Self Storage we regularly have special offer discounts for new or existing business clients such as storage space for 1p or six months climate controlled storage for the price of 3 months. Keep an eye on our special offers page to save even more money.

At Cube Self Storage, have a whole host of business storage services to make using storage really easy. For further information, please contact us on 0800 027 2668.

Prepare for Halloween with Self Storage - Part 2

We recently told you that the time had come to start your preparations for Halloween. By now you should have gone to your self storage location and gone through all your Halloween props, costumes and decorations from last year and decided what you need to buy for this year. Now comes time for planning the preparations for a fun Halloween party.

No doubt that in order to create a brilliant Halloween theme you will need to hang loads of decorations from bunting to streamers, fake cobwebs to headless statues. In order to make room in your house for these, we recommend clearing out some of your more personal and fragile items and placing them into self storage until Halloween is safely out of the way. This will not only give you some more space in your home for the party itself but will also ensure that these items remain safe whilst your Halloween party takes place.

At Cube Self Storage we have a range of different storage options available on both short and long term leases. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Self Storage for Summer Clothing

The summer started off full of promise with high temperatures and long hours of sunshine in the late spring months. Following a rather wet and cold high-summer season we were kept optimistic with rumours of a late Indian summer. Although some regions have experienced some warm spells over the last few weeks, that autumn nip in the air can no longer be ignored and it’s time to finally pack up the last of your summer wardrobe.

Take this opportunity to really think about your clothing needs. Are any of the items which create your summer wardrobe versatile (and warm!) enough to be worn in the months ahead? If so then that’s great news and layering is one of the key trends in the autumn fashion world. However for those items which are not going to be of any use until next summer like shorts, summer dresses and bikinis, it’s time to pack them away.

The most economical way to do this is to place your summer items into a self-storage facility where they will be kept dry and secure until you next need them. This will also allow you to free up valuable wardrobe and cupboard space to expand your autumn and winter clothing collections.

To find out more about our flexible and affordable self-storage options, contact us today.

Prepare for Halloween with Self Storage - Part 1

Welcome to September and the start of the autumnal festive season. The first celebration on the agenda is Halloween and this is a great opportunity for fun for both adults and children alike. Last year you may have held a fancy dress party to honour the occasion or simply taken the children out trick or treating. This year no doubt you’ll be planning a grander affair.

The first stage in the preparations is to get last year’s Halloween items out of self storage. You may have table decorations, witches brooms, vampire costumes, streamers, bunting and gruesome props stored from last year. These need to be taken out of storage and sorted out to see what additional items you need to buy (in addition to sweets and treats that is). Anything you are not going to use for this year’s party or costume can be put back into storage for review again next year.

Check back soon for part two of our Halloween preparations blog.

Customer Stories

At Cube Self Storage, we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service so we’re always delighted to receive feedback from our clients. This feedback is used to help us improve our self storage services and customer service levels even further. We thought that you’d like to hear what one of our clients thought about using Cube Self Storage.

Matt Smith is one of our domestic clients who needed to store a number of pieces of furniture along with some personal items for three months over the Christmas period. He chose Cube due to our fully secure, purpose built storage facility.

When Matt was asked if he was happy with the service he received, he responded ‘Yes – there was no damage to any item. I was 100% happy with the security of the site’. Matt went on to say that he would ‘suggest using Cube Storage to both friends and colleagues in the future’.

We are obviously delighted by this feedback and thank Matt for taking the time to provide it.
If you would like to know anything about our storage facility, or would like a storage quote, please contact us.

With only a few more days of the school holidays left, you may be looking forward to the peace and quiet of your children going back to school. However due to the recent awful weather over the summer, you may have gained a lot of extra items over the school holidays in an endeavour to entertain your children. Do you now have more art supplies, books, DVDs, board games and more than at the start of the holidays?

Well why not have a sort out and put some of your children’s item into storage until the next school holidays. This will not only clear some much needed space in your home for school books and supplies but will also help to rotate some of the items your children use to occupy themselves. When the next holidays come round, simply get the items out of storage again and your children will be thrilled to play with them all again after the break.

At Cube Self Storage, we offer a range of storage options to accommodate both large and small items – to find out more please contact us.

Storage Options For Car Boot Sales

Car boot sales are something of a British tradition. The idea is to clear out unwanted items from your home, attic, cellar and garage and sell it out of the back of your car. They are a great way to make space in your home whilst making some cash at the same time.

Some people even choose to collect donations of unwanted items from friends and family members to sell on their behalf. However this can cause a very serious problem – where to store all the items prior to selling them at a car boot. The solution is easy, hire a storage unit.

At Cube Self Storage, we offer a wide range of different sized storage units which can be used to store everything from clothing to toys, books to furniture. Plus as we don’t have a minimum storage period, you can store your items for just a couple of days to a week, to a month or longer as required. This is ideal if you are a regular car boot seller as it allows you to collect many more items that you can sell for extra cash.

If you would like to know more about our storage units, please contact us.

Back to School Storage

Although your back garden may now ring out with the sound of children’s laughter, it just a few short weeks your children will be returning to school for the autumn term. You will suddenly find that your garden becomes underutilised and that you need to decide how to cover your garden furniture and children’s garden accessories such as paddling pools and slides until next year.

This is where self-storage is useful. At storage facilities like Cube Self Storage, you can rent a storage space which can be used to store everything from garden furniture to slides, sand pits to roller skates. The beauty is that you don’t need to clutter up your garage or shed with these items whilst they are not in use, yet still have them readily available for the next school holidays.

We offer a range of storage options to accommodate both large and small items – to find out more please contact us.

How self storage can benefit property developers

Even whilst in a recession people are still making money through developing properties. But hiring a Cube Self-Storage unit could be the difference between how much money you do or don’t make.

Think of it like this, with a Cube Self-Storage unit you can:

- Store all your equipment and any materials you may need or use on future developments

- You can use it to store any bargain purchases you find, for instance if you see a deal for a new kitchen at a great low price that can be used on your next development, you are going to be able to store it away in your self-storage unit rather than missing out of saving a few hundred, or even thousands, of pounds

- Part of having a successful development is to keep within the budget and purchasing fixtures and fittings in advance is a brilliant way to do so

- How about if you have finished a development and to help sell it you furnish it with household items, bed, sofas and furniture. You then sell it, what are you going to do with all the items you’ve put into the property?

To add a secret weapon to your property development plan call our Uckfield branch to discuss self-storage hire and we will be only too happy to get you on your way to success.
