Make Sure Your Valuables are Safe this Christmas with Self Storage

Although Christmas is supposed to be a time of good will to all, unfortunately thieves don’t honour this tradition. Drawn in my empty homes and new (and expensive) Christmas gifts, thieves take full advantage of the festive season by burgling your home whilst you’re away visiting friends and family members. To make sure all your valuables are protected this year, we recommend placing them in self-storage if you’re going to be away.

The self-storage facility at Cube Self Storage is fully secure. Our security features include keypad entry, a state-of-the-art alarm system and CCTV so you can be assured that your new toys and household items are safe with us.

Check out our special offers page or contact us today to discuss your storage needs on 0800 027 2668.

Helping Christmas Wishes Come True for Children

If you have used Cube Self Storage in the past, you may be aware that one of the charities that we hold close to our hearts is Chestnut Tree House. Chestnut Tree House offers a home away from home for children with progressive life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses from all over the country. The services they offer include psychological support, respite care and bereavement therapy for families in need. They offer all this completely free of charge and are therefore reliant on donations.

Last year we helped Chestnut Tree House with their Christmas Present Appeal and, along with our clients, donated a selection of much-needed toys and games. This year, we’re hoping to top this by buying the children even more presents so for every storage contract taken out with us between 15th November and 15th December, we will be buying and donating a present to the children at Chestnut Tree House.

We would like to make a difference to these children and their families and look forward to your storage contracts. If you would like to know more about our services, please contact us.

How To Prepare Your Sofa For Storage

At Cube Self Storage, we see a lot of customers who are storing large household items in between house moves. One of the main items that are stored are sofas and our storage rooms can easily accommodate three seaters, two seaters and armchairs. Here are some top tips for preparing your sofa for storage:

Tip 1 – Cleaning
It’s important that your sofa is clean before placing it in storage. Make sure that you have thoroughly vacuumed your sofa to remove dust, dirt and pet hairs. This includes vacuuming right down in between the cushions if they cannot be removed. If your sofa is leather, we recommend using an appropriate leather suite cleaning kit prior to storage or if your sofa is fabric use an approved fabric cleaner.

Tip 2 – Protection
Although your sofa can be stored as it is without additional protection, we do recommend covering your sofa during storage. This will stop any dust getting on it. The best way to cover your sofa is by covering or wrapping it in a breathable piece of fabric.

Tip 3 – Location
To ensure your sofa stays in its correct shape during storage, we recommend storing it on its base as you would at home. It’s also important to protect your sofa from damage by sharp objects you also have in storage by not placing boxes or other objects on top of your sofa. However to maximise your storage space, other cushions, pillows, duvets, towels or blankets could be stored on your sofa without causing damage.

We hope you have found these tips useful. If you would like to know more about our self-storage options, please contact us.

Insurance Cover at Cube Self Storage

At Cube Self Storage, we understand that the items that you store with us not only have great sentimental value but monetary value too. That is why we offer you a comprehensive insurance policy when you store your items in our purpose built storage facility.

Insurance for your items is charged at 1.25% per annum of the declared value of your items.  Our standard insurance policy covers a maximum of £50,000 worth of items but we can offer insurance to a high value to suit your individual needs if required, simply let us know if you would like us to do this.

Although our storage insurance is optional, we do recommend you take out the policy to ensure that your items are fully covered should the worst happen. We are happy to provide a summary of our insurance policy upon request, simply contact us for more information.
