How self storage can benefit property developers

Even whilst in a recession people are still making money through developing properties. But hiring a Cube Self-Storage unit could be the difference between how much money you do or don’t make.

Think of it like this, with a Cube Self-Storage unit you can:

- Store all your equipment and any materials you may need or use on future developments

- You can use it to store any bargain purchases you find, for instance if you see a deal for a new kitchen at a great low price that can be used on your next development, you are going to be able to store it away in your self-storage unit rather than missing out of saving a few hundred, or even thousands, of pounds

- Part of having a successful development is to keep within the budget and purchasing fixtures and fittings in advance is a brilliant way to do so

- How about if you have finished a development and to help sell it you furnish it with household items, bed, sofas and furniture. You then sell it, what are you going to do with all the items you’ve put into the property?

To add a secret weapon to your property development plan call our Uckfield branch to discuss self-storage hire and we will be only too happy to get you on your way to success.

Want to make some money from your junk room?

When space is at a premium can you really afford to keep your spare room or junk room full of…well junk!?

If you’re thinking “well no actually, I can’t”, here are a few suggestions that might help bring in some extra cash.

1- After clearing your room and sifting through your possessions, why not put any valuable ones on Ebay or do a car boot sale. In America, they have yard sales; how about a drive way sale?

2- Start a home business that’s a bit different to the norm! How about an art gallery, but on a smaller scale of course. You could display either your work or a local artist’s work. Maybe you could display photos, sculptures, flowers or homemade crafts.

3- Did you know if you have a spare room you could let it out to a lodger and earn up to a massive £4,250 before you have to pay any tax? It is a government initiative called “The rent a room scheme”

Any of these ideas are likely to make you money, but the thing stopping you will be where to put all your stuff that has come out of your spare room in the first place. Don’t let this stop you, give Cube self-storage a ring. We will be happy to assist you with a self-storage unit, whilst you decide what you finally want to do with that spare room of yours.

Call our Uckfield self-storage branch now and if you’re a new customer you will receive up to 30% off our storage unit hire.

No more sacrificing to get on the property ladder

The average house price is well over £220,000 now. For the first time buyer it may seem like an unachievable goal but it doesn’t have to be, thanks to some help from Cube self-storage.

The typical first time buyer tends to be either a single person or a couple, maybe with a young family. A one or two bedroom flat will set you back around £120,000 now in most areas, and with a deposit of around 20% you can get yourself onto the property ladder. If you manage to get to this stage than that’s great and you’ve done really well and should be very proud.

So you’ve been in your new property for a while now and are thinking about moving as you’re starting to fill every possible inch of your flat with you possessions and hobby equipment. But you can’t move yet because house prices are still too high. So what do you do, give up your hobbies and sell the equipment so you have more space in your flat? That doesn’t sound like very good idea, does it?

Well, thanks to Cube Self-storage you wouldn’t have to. We have various self-storage units with very manageable hire terms that will suit your budget. That sounds like a better idea! We don’t want you to sacrifice anything you don’t have to. We understand how hard you have already worked to get yourself onto the property ladder and we don’t want to see you having to give up anything you like doing.

If you own your own property or are in rented accommodation call in to our Uckfield site to see all the self-storage options we have for you.

No house and nowhere to store?

With the economy being the way it is, the sale of a house can take longer to complete now than it may have done a few years ago. If you get stuck in a long chain of house movers, having sold your house and need to move out, what are you going to do?
Well many people plan to move into rented accommodation for 6 months or so to help keep the chain from falling apart. This is a great decision for many chains and often helps everyone. The main problem people have though when taking this route is rent prices are also going up. So how do you combat this?

You rent a little flat for 6 months… “Perfect! keep the costs low” I hear you say.

What are you going to do with all your furniture then?
If you can’t move into your new house straight away and nothing else will squeeze into your rented accommodation, you’re going to need somewhere to store all your possessions aren’t you?
Cube Self-storage has the answer.

We have various size self-storage units for your possessions; we even have climate controlled self-storage units for your more sensitive items such as artwork or specialist collections. Our self-storage hire terms are flexible and we are sure we have an option that will meet your needs.
We don’t want to see your dreams fall apart and we want to help keep you in the chain. If you’re in East Sussex and you need self-storage call into our Uckfield site or call us to discuss how we can help with short term storage.
